I love this hotel, was our first time in Phuket and we were really unsure of where to stay so we chose 2 different hotels one on Patong (Banthai0 and another on Karon, I wished that we stayed at Banthai for the whole stay (even though Karon beach is alot nicer than Patong). Location is fantastic right on Patong Beach, the staff were lovely and very helpful and the hotel facilities excellent so clean and very well maintained and it had the best buffet breakfast I have ever seen.
If you want to spend a little extra upgrade to a delux pool room it is worth it!
Would recommend this hotel to anyone!

Not a resort style hotel. Has no gardens. Nothing else to do (ie: tennis, volley ball, boche balls types of entertainment). The staff have very little english capabilities. We had major problems with room minibar charges. We were very insulted at check out time. They actually sent a staff member to check the room to make sure that the minbar was correct, that the number of towels were in the room was correct and then tried to charges us for on pool side towel that was not in the room. The bell boys etc have a racket going with the “tuk-tuk” drivers by setting prices and taking a cut for themselves. Donot ask the bell boys for an umbrella. They make you sign for one out and if you do not return the brollies they want you to pay 350B for it. The images of this hotel on the net do not tell the true story of the poor location is on at Patong Beach. Maybe we expected to see a tropical setting around the hotel.
An over priced block of flats. It makes Fawlty Towers look very appealing.

Loved this hotel, very central, the staff were excellent. I don’t think the pictures on the internet do it justice, it looks better when you get there. If you can afford it, try to get the deluxe pool rooms!

The resort was very good, however the bath in the bathrooms needs attention, everything else great, highly recomended.

fantastic!!! only downfall was the very hard bed, and breakfast was disapointing. if you can upgrade to rooms with private access to pool then do it! it was great getting home at midnight or later and just sliding into the pool to cool down. they could do something with the end pool bar, some music Ban Thai banners etc toi make it look more appealing.

  7. Haider Jafri says:

This hotel is simply awesome, the location is superb and the staff is very friendly. This is a clean and classy place unlike some other holets on patong beach. Would definately stay here again.

  8. Cameron Gumbleton says:

a bit over rated everything was nice, but things like the tv was tiny could barely see it and the servies on the tv didnt work all that well. but apart from that was great spot nice pools etc, be warned lol we stayed over chinesse new year and lots of fire crackers all night long but was part of the fun

  9. Thor Egil Auestad says:

Nice room, serviceminded staff, excelent breakfast, quiet

  10. vedat veleli says:

It is on the beach street and the hotel building is located about 100 mt inside from the entrence. You are in the city but enough for away from the city voice.Just near the entrence (30 mts right and left side)you have Watsons(pharmacy),sturbucks,mc donald, subway, padi scuba office.
Nights, in the hotel restaurant there is live music with great international dinner including sea food.
The hotel daily activities office offers very nice activities with very good firms. We have tried elephant treckkin (siam safari),Phi phi island tour with speed boat(phuket adventurers). Both of them very well organized.
Hotel rooms is very nice(we have 2+6 yrs old girl). You can select pool accsess rooms in the base floor for your pleasure(cost more).
Patong Public Beach is very nice sandy beach.Cheap umbrellas and lying chairs (200 bht for two).
If you go to phuket for fist time, you will have a lot of daily excursions. So you will not stay in your hotel. Why pay more for private beach, bigger pools etc.

  11. Nicole Jackson says:

Very nice and would definitely stay here again.3 pools which seem to have been designed to have a bit of a breeze coming thro’ whichis a benefit when its so hot.

The room was very clean, modern and well furnished (and quite posh bearing in mind the price). The location is great as you are literally 3 min walk from the beach if that,in the middle of all the shopping etc and yet the rooms and the pools are very quiet.its like an oasis

  12. Jasmine Crewe says:

Great location, right near the beach but far away enough from the nightclub action to forget it was there – it’s only about a 10min walk away. The staff were fantastic, they were so good to our 16month old daughter, they even entertained her while we ate! Buffet breakfast was also great.

  13. Damian says:

Hard beds, expensive breakfast for Phuket. Cleaners didn’t clean floors during our stay.
Worst part was noise, neighbors sound really noisy through thin walls, doors bang loudly when people go in or out of their rooms, and people walk on the roof on loose tiles above your head when you are on the 4th floor.
They only change your pool towel when they make up your room, so if you miss out on getting it changed because you are using it, you have to find a cleaner or ask someone especially to get it changed. Better to have a towel exchange point near your pool like other hotels.
Location was great, seems fairly new. Great service when there is a problem (eg t.v froze and repairman came in 5 minutes) or when you order something (bucket of ice arrived in a few minutes). Staff are great around the pool.

  14. Keon says:

Service is superb. Location is great.

  15. Jocelyn says:

Banthai was gorgeous. I stayed there with my boyfriend and a couple of mates for 6 nights and had a great time. The rooms were really good, even for the lowest category (superior?), what would the deluxe ones would be like? Perfect location- about 5-10 min walk to Bangla Rd but there are bars and restaurants just outside. It was an oasis in the craziness of Patong. One of the nice touches was that they left orchids on your bed after they made the room. Breakfast was massive, with an omelette chef!
There were a couple of problems. One of my friends was booked in earlier and they were overbooked so moved him to a different hotel (Graceland) for the one night. And the other problem was that one of the 3 rooms wasn’t ready for us when we wanted to check in. It only took about half hour and my friend got a free drink out of it.
Overall, I would definitely recommend Banthai – it’s close enough to the action but doesn’t feel like it once you’re in the resort.

    great hotel

  17. Michel Metzger says:

Has been the best hotel (by far) of the whole (honeymoon) three weeks trip (Thailand & Burma)! The hotel architecture is interesting (nice central swimming pools), the location exceptional, the decoration of the room is perfect (very design)… a real five stars (if we forget some small reception problems) at real bargaining price!

  18. Heidi says:

Great location, fabulous breakfast buffet, rooms are small but fine. The 3 pools are great because the hotel was full but when it is spaced out among 3 pools for all the guests, it doesn’t feel crowded at all. Great hotel if you want to be in the middle of Patong next to all the action!

  19. Kerrie Baumer says:

Great facilities, staff very friendly great breakfast would stay there again on my next visit. If you are able to stay in the pool access rooms it is well worth it.

  20. justine Luders-searle says:

very polite staff, great hotel and location…breakfast buffet absolutely awesome….egg station cooking omlettes and scrambled eggs, waffles, bacon and all the regular western food and some realy interesting ‘other’ dishes!
yummy cocktails both in and out of pool bar!
just one peculiar thing…we broke a coffee mug in our room and got charged for it….i wonder if we would have had to pay if we had broken one in a restaurant!
all hotels in asia seem to use packs of chemicals commonly referred to as ‘creamers’ to whiten coffee and it can be a bit of a drama to get milk from house keeping – i just get mine from shop down the road!
would stay there again in a heartbeat – wouldnt pay extra mone for deluxe pool room with spa but it is good to get the deluxe pool room as it is right by the pool…and the pool has spas in it anyhow.

  21. Eduardo says:

The Hotels location is middle in the Patong Beach and is good for people which like action. To reach the beach you have to gross the main road, so no direct access to the beach. Otherwise a very pleasant Hotel to stay, recommendable is a visit to the Spa.

  22. Santiago says:

Excellent location with the beach just across the road and shopping is surround by. Very good facility, nice pool area. Very crowded at the time we travelled – early Feb. Good rate when I booked with [your website] compares to the prices listed at the Hotel Resort.

  23. Stephen Yew says:

Service was very good. Room was great. The downside is that the pool / jacuzzi that was next to our room is also next or should I say, part of the walk way to the other rooms. So it feels strange to have hotel guests walking by next to you as you’re in the jacuzzi outside your room or when you’re swimming. Privacy is a problem in this case when you’re swimming or in the jacuzzi.

  24. Nick Ray says:

as a single traveller on his first trip to Thailand, this was perfect. although not able to accomodate me due to guests overstaying, they booked me into a comprable hotel for one night, the next morning collected me and made me very welcome in the Banthai Beach. i will definatly be going back, the pool area outdide my room was an oasis of calm, the bar was well stocked and the staff could not do enough to help.

  25. David GARRIDO says:

I been more than 20 times to phuket and this is the best hotel I was , I really enjoy my holidays.

  26. Finn says:

We found the hotel very enjoyable the service was excellent we could not fault anything. Breakfast every day was delicious well organised loved our stay.

  27. Nia says:

This hotel has everything going for it. We were very impressed with it. Two criticisms… the audio visual system was extremely difficult to work and it was very difficult at times to communicate. Otherwise everyone was very friendly pleasant and helpful
