Excellent location – hard to beat as starting point for [inner] city walks.

The hotel is in an excellent location – the Freidtrichstrasse train station is virtually at the hotel doorstep as well as the Friedrichstrasse shopping area, and it’s an easy walk along the river to Museumtinsel. We are both relatively young and fit and found most places were walkable (other than more outlying areas such as Friedrichshain and Kreutzberg!) provided you are in no specific hurry.

It would be hard to improve on the location of the Melia Berlin,
overlooking the Spree River, within easy walking distance of the
Reichstag and Brandenburg Gate, Museum island with its wonderful
museums of the antiquity, the Berlin Opera, Unter den Linden and
many other sights; it is in the heart of Old Berlin. The service
was excellent. The hotel has a strong Spanish flavour which we had
not anticipated but did not find unaccommodating.
